30th December 2015
Windsurfing: Felixstowe-Dip
Wind Direction: S
Wind Stength: F6 and F7
Surf / Sea State: Nice rollers and smooth chop
Air Temperature: 12
Sea Temperature: 11.7
Weather: cloud
Max Speed: 23.4 (knots - unless stated otherwise)
Distance Covered: 8.7 (Nautical Miles - unless stated otherwise)

At Dip 10 with lots of 1 foot frequent surf as tide low and wind a bit on shore, and looked a bit strange. Measured 23 knots average at Golf so rigged 76l/4.2m which was too much out at sea. Sea had nice rollers that increased in size until sea got a bit messy in places about 12 30. Surprised most gybes came off as so windy as sea was smooth between rollers. Good riding waves and one floaty jump, but falling in was sometimes tiring to get going.
Came in for a rest and wind eased as Chris S went on 3.7m. I tried again but wave knocked me off near shore and strong river current swept grip back of board away and trapped my gear against a groynes as increasing waves battered it. Paul rescued me and dragged gear in or it would have been wrecked as undertow kept me out. Packed up as knackered. Sea looked good but getting out again tricky. Wind increased again when all in so good decision.
Roger, Pete, Strawb, Paul, Phill, Chris S out too.
Whilst hard work at times, almost wrecked gear, overpowered a lot, it was good fun in smooth rollers and felt good fun so 4*
